Milan firefighters were called out on multiple alarms Thursday December 11th and Friday December 12th stemming from a storm that dropped about one inch of ice on the area. Power was out in most of the town. Firefighters were called out to assist with many wires down, auto accidents, automatic fire and CO (Carbon Monoxide) detector alarms, Trees on houses, as well as to stand by in Red Hook while the Red hook fire department dealt with a structure fire. As Friday wore on firefighters were call out to assist home owners with pumping out many basements filling with water from the torrential rain and melting ice. The situation was made worse by many roads in the area were closed. The Taconic State Parkway was closed until Tuesday December 16th. By Sunday December 14th most town of Milan roads were open, and electric power restored to most residents by Monday evening.
