The Milan Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. (also referred to as Milan Fire-Rescue in order to show the full range of the service we provide ) is an independent, member-owned not-for-profit volunteer fire department - one of the few of its kind left in the state. We provide fire, rescue, and emergency medical service coverage for residents in the Town of Milan in northern Dutchess County, NY, as well as portions of the towns of Gallatin and Clermont in Columbia County. Our coverage area blankets almost 50 square miles, including a long stretch of the Taconic State Parkway.
Our 100% volunteer department serves the community 24 hours each day, 365 days a year from three stations with seven pieces of apparatus: three pumper/tankers, a medium rescue, brush truck, utility pickup and a BLS ambulance. Other equipment includes a chief's car/command vehicle and a Polaris Ranger 6x6 ATV.
